About the seed
All seed is harvested at it's correct time and, apart from those seeds that have a long life span or dormancy, we will only sell seed that is fresh from our last harvest.
We do not use any synthetic chemicals at all, and garden in a bio-dynamic, sustainable way as seems only natural.
Live Plant

Because we are constantly planting seeds to ensure their freshness & viability, we often have plants to sell as well. These are listed on our new Nursery site. We are constantly updating and increasing the range onsite as we are comfortable that they can be easily grown.

CULINARY BASIL SEEDS
Cinnamon Basil | Ocimum basilicum | LIibiatae | SEEDS

Photo One Mostly a short lived perennial and not an annual, depending on how often you use it. This variety simply has a scent as it's name suggests. Does best in warmer climates. We have kept some of our bushes for 4-5 years maintaining them this way.

Sweet Basil | Ocimum basilicum | LIibiatae | SEEDS
Photo One Just your basic basil. Wonderful, large leaves which look 'just the part' when cut or torn and tossed into a salad or salsa. These plants will grow for longer than one year but the flavour diminishes somewhat. They self seed well so that you never have to worry about next years crop. As with all of the Basil family, it aids digestion and is anti-bacterial, but Sweet Basil also stimulates the senses, especially smell, making it a great 'all rounder.'

East Indian Basil | Tea Basil | Ocimum gratissimum | LIibiatae | SEEDS
Photo One East Indian Basil or Tea Bush, is a shrubby perennial in the same genus as the annual Basils, with woody stems and typical Basil spikes of flowers. Tea Bush has a slightly citrus taste and lends itself beautifully to cuisine, but can be enjoyed often as a 'Tea'. We use the tea to relieve lower back pain and the occasional cold, as it lowers fever by promoting perspiration.

30 seeds $3.50

Tulsi or Holy Basil | Sacred Basil| Ocimum sanctum | LIibiatae | SEEDS
Photo One While it's impossible not to love all of the Basil family, Tulsi has to be our personal favourite. Quick to strike and easy to grow, Tulsi is listed as an annual but, with constant use and pruning, it will last much longer. It has a woody stem, allowing it to stand for much longer than many of it's cousins. Wonderful as a culinary herb, Tulsi does deter mosquitoes, settle the stomach and refresh the mind.
